Programme for Derry Walls Day Revealed

Saturday’s programme has been revealed with the Mason’s Treasure Hunt being the highlight. In the mission to find Peter Benson’s missing contract for building the Derry Walls, anyone taking part will get the chance to get inside heritage buildings around the City Walls for free , including some hidden spaces not normally open to the public  Along the way get talking with costumed historical performers, all of whom are connected to the stories of the  building of the Walls or our heritage buildings. If you want some tips on solving the puzzles presented in the Mason’s Treasure Hunt, the Playhouse are providing a School for History Detectives  in Guildhall Square.  There will also be a pop-up museum  in the Square, demonstrating stone-carving and 17th C weapons.
